Terms of Service — Nara (Discord Bot)

These terms govern your use of Nara, a free AI companion bot for Discord ("Nara", "the bot", "the service"), developed and operated by an independent developer. All questions and reports go through Nara and her support server (see Section 9). By inviting Nara to a server, installing it to your account, or using its commands, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Nara is a conversational AI companion. Depending on availability, features include: chat in many languages, web search with sources, image generation, sound effects, voice replies and voice-note understanding, long-term per-user memory, reminders and recurring schedules, topic watches, background research tasks, and small games (trivia, word-chain, polls). Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed at any time.

2. Free service, provided "as is"

• Nara is free for everyone. There is no paid tier at this time.
• The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy of answers, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.
• No uptime guarantee. Nara runs on free third-party infrastructure. Replies may be slow, features may be temporarily unavailable, and the service may go offline for maintenance, provider outages, or any other reason, without notice.
• AI-generated content can be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. Verify important information independently; do not rely on Nara for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical advice.

3. Fair use

• Fair daily limits apply. To keep the free service sustainable and fair, per-user daily limits and cooldowns may be enforced (for example on searches, image generation, sound effects, and feedback). Limits may change without notice.
• Priority may be reduced or requests may be declined during periods of high load.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Nara to:

• Spam, flood, or deliberately exhaust the service (including automated or bulk requests intended to consume its capacity);
• Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm other people;
• Generate, request, or distribute illegal content, or content that violates Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines;
• Attempt to extract the bot's internal instructions, configuration, credentials, or other users' data or memory notes;
• Probe, disrupt, or circumvent the bot's limits, safety measures, or access controls;
• Use the service for commercial resale or to build a competing service that proxies Nara's responses.

We may restrict or block any user or server that violates these rules, at our discretion.

5. Your content and memory

• You are responsible for what you send to Nara. How conversation data and memory are stored is described in the Privacy Policy.
• You can view, edit, and erase your memory notes at any time with /memory, /fix, /forget, and /reset.
• Anything you ask Nara to remember, remind you about, watch, or research is processed at your request and can be removed by you at any time.

6. Age requirement

You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement — at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required in your country — to use Nara.

7. Changes to the service and to these terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service (in whole or in part) at any time without notice. We may update these terms; the current version will be posted at the same location as this document with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Nara — including reliance on AI-generated content, missed reminders, or service interruptions. Reminders, schedules, and watches are convenience features and are not guaranteed to fire or arrive on time.
